Arizona Pt 2 May 16, 2012

its been a while, but here is a little more from our vaca!

 

Josh decided to let Addy drive the rental one day, she loved it! It was just in the community, and the speed limit was like 10.  So we thoug

ht it was ok. haha

We hadn’t taken Ad swimming yet, so I wanted to wait until Josh was there, so we could both experience her first time swimming. Luckily Auntie Kate was kind enough to stick her toes in the water to kick a little bit!

Her first swim was a SUCCESS! thought I didn’t have any doubts that should would like the water. She is such a little fish! So glad we will have lots of time at the lake this summer for her to swim! She probably would have spent the whole day in the water if we let her! No joke.

Even though this picture isn’t the most flattering, I thought I’d share it anyways. She was all about rolling to the pile of shoes and playing with them. Didn’t matter how many times she was taken away from them, she would always find her way back!

SOOO excited! We were able to take Addy to her first baseball game while we were away! AND it just so happened to be the Diamond Backs home opener! It was such a fun experience! We all got FREE tshirts! ( i am obsessed with free) Ad also sat pretty well for the whole game! I was very impressed. I love going to baseball games, so I am hoping this was the start to a new family tradition, as my dad used to take us to games, I hope and am planning to take Ad to at least one a year as a family!

 

That is all the excitement of our trip! It was nice to be able to spend 2 weeks in the hot sun, shopping relaxing and just enjoying time with Josh’s whole fam!

Baby Monster is BACK! April 26, 2012

My baby monster is back. I think probably because she is teething! But none the less she is a grumpy grumpy girl! Her sleep schedule is back on track, thank goodness! And so normally she wakes up around 6-7am for a feeding, then back down until 10 or so! This am she slept until around 8:20, fussed and turned her mobile on! Such a blessing that she figured out how to do that! As I was unable to get back to sleep, I got up and had my coffee, started doing some studying, and was kindly interrupted by death cries!! This is what I walked into: (I know, terrible mother, taking photos of her super upset baby)

 

Addy has in the past few weeks been able to sit up on her own, though she doesn’t do it often, so I was surprised and a little proud, to see her sitting up in her crib!

 

An other new fun game she has started playing this week, is find and chase down Charlies bone! She will spot it as she is playing and will slowly make her way over to it, even if Charlie is playing with it, she needs it.

Yes she is eating it and  Yes  I know it is gross.  But when I take it away the tantrums get thrown, I let her throw them, but I am not sure what to do! ! Who knew that a 7 month old could have such a temper!  It is awful, any suggestions how to tame it quick before it gets out of hand I will take!

Arizona Vaca pt 1 April 17, 2012

We just went on our FIRST real family vacation! I say real because we have vaca’d together to the cottage but this was our first big one!

We flew down to Arizona, where Josh’s parents have a house, and we spent 2 wonderful weeks in the hot sun! it was sooo great! Thanks to Auntie Kate and her necklace, Ad had some great entertainment for the flight down! I was pretty nervous about flying, I am not a  good flier, AND I was travelling without Josh. But luckily the flight went better than expected! Addy got a little bored at times but it was bearable!

We had 4 days of girls only time! We spent most of it at the pool and shopping! I wasn’t able to find a nice sun hat for addy before we went down, and the one her Gma picked up for her down in AZ didn’t fit her fat head! It was even a size 12-24mth!!

This is her cruising in her “travel stroller” to the pool.  I had to take this pic quick! she did not like those sunglasses on for very long! I also think she rocked that bandanna like a boss!

Luckily pool time and nap time were around the same time! So for the first few days we would have Ad in her stroller sleeping! and then when she woke up someone either took her back to the house, or we tried to keep her entertained long enough on the lounge chairs! Then finally I think like 3 days in we had a brilliant idea, pack and play to the pool! life saver! Addy played in there slept in there, enjoyed the fresh air! All while we were able to enjoy the sun. I most def got my tan on! Ad however did not! there was a perfect corner at the pool that offered her shade and a breeze throughout the day! So it worked great for everyone!

I don’t want this post to go on forever, so I will stop here! more to come on our first adventure down south!

Yes Peas! March 14, 2012

I have started to let go and finally let my baby girl grow up a little bit more and have real food! We gave her peas for the first time a couple weeks ago with much success!! She ate them like a chap and now gets pretty excited about eating them daily! I also tried giving her banana, but that did not go over well at all! I have also started to up grade her to oat cereal! WOO HOO,  I know, so exciting! Stay tuned to friday when we give sweet potatoes a try!!

An other fun and exciting thing in our home is poop time! hahaha, Addyson makes it VERY clear when she has to poo! I know people say that when you become a mom you can handle the gross that comes with it, not this mom. I  cannot stomach the smell of her food poo, it has been known to make me gag a bit. I decided the other day when I noticed Ad trying to poop that I would put her on the toilet and let her do her thing! This is the best idea I have had, no dirty smelly diaper to clean up after, just a good ol’ wipe and we are good to go!  Today however, I was gearing up to get her diaper back on and she pee’d all over the floor.  I guess I deserved that after making her sit on the can!

Scary times! March 1, 2012

This update was from a few weeks ago, and since I didn’t know how to upload vids,  I opted not to post. Now i know how. so here it is!  its not that exciting.

just a quick update! i will post more when Ad take a nap….but that seems like it will not happen any time soon today!

Here is a little video of me scarring Addy., we played this game last week probably for a good 20mins or so! I would sneek up on her and say “boo” and she would laugh and laugh.

Busy Bee February 28, 2012

I cannot believe in a few short days I will have a 6 month old! Addyson is such a busy busy little girl.  I have a bad feeling she is going to give Josh and I a run for our money.

This morning she woke up early (9:15ish), yes that is early to us! And she was a chatty mcgee all morning.  Non stop chats, it is pretty cute! While she was talking she said dada! This was her first time say it, she normally sticks with yaya’s.  But today its baba dada yaya she is also saying other things, but this mother doesn’t understand! haha. ( edit!)

We are now giving Ad “cookies” aka mum mums. she loves them! When she sees the package she gets pretty excited!

She pretty much destroys it as soon as she gets her hands on them!

Last week we were lucky enough to have a little quick visit with Uncle Ben, no not the famous rice man, though I wish it was him.  He was in town for work, so Callie and Auntie Kristen weren’t able to come. Ad was pretty sad about that, however her bff did send her a little something! We LOVE knit hats in this house!

Babe is now asleep! And I have to get my packing done!! We are going to Arizona is a few weeks, but my father in law is leaving on thursday, and has offered to take down our suitcase we would normally check (he is flying south west! free baggage, where as we are flying air canada $25 baggage!)  So I need to get organized stat! ps. Im a terrible packer!

Bad Habits February 14, 2012

Yesterday I taught poor Addy a terrible habit! Eating in front of the TV, this is something that we don’t normally do. But it was Bachelor Monday so I allowed it just this once. I quickly learned my lesson Addyson+food+TV=DISASTER.  Her cereal ended up everywhere, but in her mouth. She also thought that it would be a fun game to blow raspberries with her mouth full!  At one point she thought she should be in charge of the spoon. That also did not fair well for either of us. In the end the cereal did get eaten but she was far more  interested in who Ben was going to give the rose too!

Sitting, Teeth and Diamonds February 10, 2012

OK so I have been slack on this mainly because I wanted to add pictures and video, but due to uploading problems with my phone, and fear my computer might crash if I load all the pic of Addy onto it,  I have decided to update sans photo!

We decided a couple weeks ago that it was time for Josh and  I to go on a date! So we went to the movies (we had great coupons from empire that were also about to expire). The only movie that was playing not too early and not too late was One for the Money,  I enjoyed it! Josh however did not.

We left Addyson with her Grandpa N, and Aunt Kate, who brought  Ads cousin Lyric over for a play date! I was so nervous she was going to be a crankster, which she had been a lot that week. But sure enough when we went to pick her up she had been all laughs and smiles for them!  I had a sneaking suspicion that my girl had maybe cut her tooth, and sure enough tooth TWO was in! they are growing in even more now, little baby teeth are, I think, the cutest things!

When people tell you to enjoy every moment because babies grow so fast, LISTEN to them! I can’t believe how big Addy is getting and she is not even 6 months. We have been working on her sitting skills for a while now, and she can finally do it! She looks so cute to me when she sits and plays!

Before we even had Addyson, Josh and I talked about whether or not we would pierce our babies ears. At the time I was all for it, and Josh was I think even more excited to do it than I was.  She received her very FIRST earrings 2 days after she was born! So the hype was there for her to get them done. But after she was born I feel so in love with her perfectness, and feared getting those soft perfect lobes pierced. Anyways,  I finally decided that soon she would be playing and grabbing at her ears, so if we were going to get them done as a babe, now would be the time! I bit the bullet, we went and got them done last friday with Grandma N! My baby girl did so well! She hated having Josh hold her head still, but after her ears were done she only cried for maybe 5mins!  And I must say she does look pretty cute! (she looked pretty cute without them too).

tooth! January 25, 2012

Two days Addy cut her first tooth!! Wahooo!! She hasn’t even been that fussy teething (knock on wood she stays that way!) We have been rubbing her gums a few times a day to prepare for teeth brushing, and in the am and afternoon there was just swollen gums. In the evening there was a tooth! She was so proud when we found it, she just laughed and smiled! Hopefully tooth number 2 comes in just as easily!
The picture is of her little tooth. You can’t really see it that well, but as a crazy mom I felt the need to put the picture with this post! I also had to wait until she was asleep to take this! she didn’t want a new tooth picture!

oppps! I stink at blogging!

I really need to work on blogging more often! I’m going to aim to do it at least once a week! Here is a snip bit of what’s been happening lately!

Addy is becoming such a little person! No longer just my cute cuddly baby. She gets bored so quickly, I am in constantly trying to entertain her with different things, makes getting anything done difficult!

 

We also tried giving her rice cereal for the first time the other week! She ate it down like a champ! We thought that maybe she was needing a little extra substance to help her sleep through the night! It totally did not help! Instead she was up every 3 hours that night! So I put a kibosh on rice cereal until 6months!

My parents have 2 dogs Les and Laila, and we have Charlie. Charlie and Les could really careless about Addy, they like to kiss her and be on their way. However Laila thinks that she needs to watch and protect Ad, so where ever Addy is there Laila will also be! They have become great friends, Addy now pets her and grabs her fur! Laila actually let’s Ad sit in her lap! That’s huge for her!

Last little tidbit for now! Addy, like her mom, LOVES chips! Ok, well maybe not the chips quite yet! But she does love the sound of the bag! She tries to help herself! She wants to be a big girl and have chip snacks with the rest of us! Maybe in a few months we tell her!
